Political Education

In the field of political education, volunteers are engaged in educational and Public Relations work on diverse political topics such as anti-racism, peace and international reconciliation, often with historical references.

Volunteers work in human rights organisations, research institutions and political initiatives. They support their projects doing organisational and Public Relations work such as the creation and publication of information on right-wing extremism, racism and antisemitism, and organise educational projects like workshops at schools, advanced education for teachers and info booths at events. They also work on exhibitions and help organise conferences and other events.

The daily work includes bureaucratic work, translations, and working on the project's website.

Many of the projects in the field of political education are connected to historical topics, e.g. the history of National Socialism. Volunteers interested in working in this field should therefore be interested in history and politics. Along with the willingness to do daily office work and work in a team, volunteers need a degree of self-initiative and independence, educational motivation and stability, because this kind of work can also be incriminating. Better knowledge of the German language (or English, in the UK) language is required for political projects.
