In most countries, ASF volunteers find their accommodations themselves. They are supported by their project partners and the ASF offices. Sometimes volunteers can move into their predecessors's flats.
In some countries, ASF has rented flats or rooms. Some volunteers live in shared flats with other ASF volunteers or in their projects (e.g. living communities with disabled people).
The social environment and facilites of ASF flats and projects are rather modest. Furniture is restricted to the bare necessities: bed, table, shelf, chair and basic kitchen equipment. Some accommodations don't have washing machines.
